Increase in farmers’ income is top priority: Nitish

Patna/ Chapra, Jan 21 (UNI) Reiterating his government's agenda of enhancing farmers' income, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Wednesday that special focus would be on the theme of “Agricultural Progress, State Prosperity” under the Saat Nishchay part-time III programme.
After reviewing ongoing development works in Saran district with officials during his Samriddhi Yatra, the Chief Minister said that the Saat Nishchay part - III initiatives have been implemented with the objective of placing Bihar among the country’s most developed states. He noted that one of the core pillars of the programme focuses on agricultural advancement as a pathway to overall prosperity.
Kumar said that the Fourth Agriculture Roadmap (2024–2029) is being implemented at an accelerated pace to boost farmers’ income. He added that a separate roadmap has been prepared for makhana, with efforts underway to enhance its production and processing. Special emphasis is also being laid on dairy and fisheries, including the formation of milk producer cooperatives in all villages and the establishment of “Sudha” milk outlets in every panchayat.

Odisha Assembly adjourned till 4 PM amid uproar over paddy procurement crisis

Bhubaneswar, Feb 18 (UNI) The Odisha Legislative Assembly witnessed chaotic scenes on Wednesday as Opposition members from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Indian National Congress staged protests over alleged irregularities in paddy procurement and distress sales by farmers.
The uproar forced Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn the House till 4 PM without conducting any business.

Assam BJP wants single phase elections before Rongali Bihu: CM
