IJU condemns blocking of Vikatan magazine website

Hyderabad/Chandigarh, Feb 17 (UNI) The Indian Journalists Union (IJU) has condemned the blocking of the Vikatan magazine website for publishing a cartoon on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a statement issued here on Monday. IJU President K. Sreenivas Reddy and Secretary-General Balwinder Singh Jammu termed the action by the government a direct attack on media freedom.
Following a complaint from Tamil Nadu BJP Chief to the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the website of the popular magazine, went inaccessible, they said.
