IIT Hyderabad celebrates election of distinguished professors as Fellows of the Royal Society

Hyderabad, May 21 (UNI) The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) is celebrating a landmark moment as two of its Distinguished Professors — Prof. Chennupati Jagadish of the Australian National University and Dr Mallikarjun Tatipamula, CTO at Ericsson — have been elected Fellows of the Royal Society (FRS), one of the most prestigious scientific honours in the world.
The Fellowship of the Royal Society, the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence, is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to science, engineering, and medicine. This honour places Prof. Jagadish and Dr. Tatipamula among globally renowned scientists such as Newton, Einstein, and India’s own Sir CV Raman.
Both scientists have deep academic roots in India and maintain close associations with IITH, embodying the country's growing influence in global scientific and technological innovation.
