IISc Prof K B Akhilesh wins Gusi Peace Prize for 2018

Bengaluru, Sept 28 (UNI) Prof K B Akhilesh, Senior fellow at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) here, has been selected for the prestigious Gusi Peace Prize for 2018.
The Gusi Peace Prize for 2018 Philippines and International Committee has selected Prof Akhilesh in recognition of his outstanding contribution to find peaceful solutions for people's welfare by promoting peace through education.
The Award will be presented on November 28 at Philippines, according to a IISc release here on Friday.

Mumbai’s streets not dumping grounds for abandoned vehicles: HC

Mumbai, May 19 (UNI) The Bombay High Court has firmly stated that public roads and spaces in Mumbai cannot be treated as dumping grounds for abandoned or confiscated vehicles, directing police stations across the city to rigorously implement the Traffic department’s protocols for the removal and disposal of such vehicles as per an order which was made available on Monday.
