III-2026 concludes at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, stresses sustained industry-academia partnership

Dhanbad, Feb 7 (UN) The two-day Industry-Institute Interaction 2026 (III-2026) concluded at the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) here on Saturday, with speakers underlining the need for sustained collaboration among academia, industry and policymakers to advance smart mining, critical minerals and green energy initiatives in the country.
The concluding day featured thematic keynote sessions focusing on smart mining integration, critical mineral strategies and green energy transitions. Experts deliberated on digital repositories for India’s mining sector, policy and financing frameworks for critical mineral projects, sustainable supply chains and the development of skilled human capital to reduce import dependence.
The discussions highlighted the importance of technology-driven exploration, responsible sourcing, process automation and the adoption of renewable energy in mining operations.
