HyFarm Partners with Sri BioAesthetics to Boost Potato Ecosystem

Hyderabad, Apr 14 (UNI) HyFarm, the agribusiness arm of HyFun Foods, on Tuesday said it has entered into a strategic partnership with Sri BioAesthetics Pvt. Ltd to enhance potato ecosystem health through microbiome-driven soil immunity.
The collaboration, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to jointly develop and evaluate a preventive, biology-led soil immunity model tailored for India's potato industry, the company said in a release here.
The initiative seeks to address key challenges in seed potato production, including soil-borne diseases, yield variability, and high rejection rates in processing.
The partnership aims to improve seed vigour, tuber uniformity, and processing efficiency while enhancing long-term soil productivity.
KRK Reddy, Managing Director of Sri BioAesthetics, said the potato ecosystem requires high consistency and disease control, which cannot be achieved through reactive approaches alone.
He noted that the collaboration would bring the SoilFirst™ platform into a high-performance agricultural system, enabling microbiome-led interventions to directly improve seed health and processing outcomes.
S. Soundararadjane, Chief Executive Officer of HyFarm, emphasised that the partnership would help address soil health in a scientific and preventive manner.
He added that integrating microbiome intelligence into seed production and crop development would lead to improved uniformity, reduced rejection rates, and higher recovery efficiencies in processing.
As part of the collaboration, both companies will implement the SoilFirst™ programme, a microbiome-based framework that includes soil diagnostics, pathogen mapping, pre-plant soil conditioning (soil vaccination), seed tuber microbial treatment, and root-zone biological strengthening.
In the initial phase, demonstration plots covering approximately 25–50 acres will be established across key potato-growing regions in Gujarat and Punjab. These plots will compare conventional practices with SoilFirst™-treated methods, focusing on improvements in seed multiplication efficiency and processing performance.
