Hyderabad: ACB nabs Assistant Engineer accepting bribe

Hyderabad, Mar 28 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Thursday nabbed an Assistant Engineer (AE) of the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL), Jeedimetla Division, red-handed while accepting a Rs 30,000 bribe.
At around 1445 hours, the accused officer, S Surender Reddy, was caught by the ACB’s City Range Unit-2 while demanding and accepting the bribe from a complainant. The bribe was sought for providing an official work estimation to shift an 11KV power line and lay a cable for the complainant’s building, according to an ACB statement on Friday.
The accused officer thereby misused his official position and acted dishonestly.
