Hyd :Two telugu news channel journalists arrested for allegedly telecasting defamatory content against senior woman officer

Hyderabad, Jan 15 ( UNI) The Hyderabad City Police have arrested two journalists associated with a Telugu news channel in connection with a case registered for allegedly telecasting defamatory allegations against a senior woman officer, a release stated on Thursday.
A case was registered on January 10 at the Central Crime Station (CCS), Detective Department, Hyderabad, under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Information Technology Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986, against certain Telugu news channels.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising eight officers was constituted to investigate the case, with Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order–North Zone) N. Swetha, IPS, appointed as the in-charge.
