Hrithik Roshan to make a guest appearance in Rajnikanth's 'Jailer 2'

Mumbai, June 11 (UNI) Hrithik Roshan is officially set to make a cameo in "Jailer 2", marking a long-awaited on-screen reunion with Rajinikanth nearly 40 years after the duo shared screen space in the 1986 film "Bhagwaan Dada".
Following weeks of discussions, the 52-year-old actor has officially agreed to be a part of the project and will shoot for his sequence on June 22 and June 23 in Chennai. The “Bang Bang” actor will undergo multiple look tests before filming, with the makers designing an entirely new and never-before-seen avatar specially for his character.
His portions will be mounted on a grand scale, presenting Hrithik in a high-octane role that promises to be a treat for his fans. Sources say his cameo comes at a crucial point in the film where he aids Rajinikanth’s character to take the story forward. “Jailer 2” marks Roshan's first commitment since the release of “War 2” in August 2025.
Roshan made his acting debut as a child artist in "Bhagwaan Dada", where he portrayed the foster son of Rajinikanth’s character. Over the years, Roshan has often spoken fondly of the experience and his deep respect for the Tamil superstar, repeatedly expressing a desire to work with him again. “Jailer 2” finally brings that reunion to life after four decades.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, "Jailer 2" is expected to feature several high-profile appearances from leading stars across Indian cinema, according to Variety India.
The cameo roster reportedly includes Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Vijay Sethupathi and Mithun Chakraborty, making it one of the most star-studded line-ups in recent memory.
The film also stars SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Vidya Balan and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. The film is eyeing a September 2026 release. UNI NST CDS
