HP HC clears 35,940 cases in seven months, pushes for tech-driven reforms

Shimla, July 16 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh High Court has recorded significant progress in judicial efficiency and technological integration, disposing of 35,940 cases between December 2024 and July 2025 against 37,083 fresh filings.
Of these, 929 cases pending for over five years were cleared since January 2025, reaffirming the Court’s commitment to reducing backlog despite a shortage of five judges.
The Court is implementing several reforms to strengthen the justice delivery system. A nationwide 90-day mediation campaign titled “Mediation for the Nation” has been launched in line with Supreme Court directions to promote amicable dispute resolution and ease litigation burden.
