HP Govt. extends land acquisition deadline for Kangra Airport expansion

Dharamshala, Oct 16 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has issued another order extending the land acquisition process for the Kangra Airport expansion project.
Earlier, the acquisition process for 122 hectares of private land had been granted an extension. Now, the government has also extended the acquisition process for 26 hectares of government land until June 3, 2026.
As per the rules, the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) report related to this acquisition must be implemented within one year; failing which, the process lapses automatically. However, the state government holds the authority to extend the process by up to 24 months, a provision that has now been exercised.
