HP Govt. eases parking norms

Shimla, Feb 16 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Government on Monday highlighted a series of urban development reforms and planning initiatives undertaken over the past three years, including enhanced parking norms, notification of new planning areas, and a structured grievance redressal mechanism under the Town and Country Planning framework.
In the Governor’s Address delivered in state assembly by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukal, Congress government stated that two development plans for the Bhota in Hamirpur and Dhaulakuan- Majra areas Sirmaur, along with two special area development plans for Sarahan and Chintpurni, have been notified during the current financial year. These plans are aimed at regulating construction activity, preserving local character, and ensuring orderly urban expansion in emerging growth centres.
The Address also announced the declaration of Tara Mata as a new planning area, bringing it under the ambit of regulated development to prevent haphazard construction and to provide structured civic infrastructure.
