Hisense inaugurates its first manufacturing Facility in India in AP

Hyderabad, Feb 10 (UNI) Hisense, a global leader in consumer electronics and home appliances, on Tuesday inaugurated its first manufacturing facility in India at Sri City (Tirupati district), Andhra Pradesh, marking a major step in its localisation and expansion strategy.
The world-class facility has been commissioned through Epack Manufacturing Technologies Private Limited (EMTPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Epack Durable Limited, under the Hisense–Epack Durable joint venture, the company said in a release.
The newly commissioned unit, located within Epack Durable’s industrial park at Sri City, spans 10 acres and has been developed with an investment of over USD 30 million.
The facility is positioned alongside Epack Durable’s existing ODM manufacturing plant and represents a key milestone in Hisense’s India growth roadmap, aligned with the Government of India’s Make in India initiative.
Commercial production is scheduled to begin from February 2026, positioning Hisense to strengthen its supply chain resilience and cost competitiveness in the fast-growing Indian consumer durables market.
Currently employing around 500 people, the facility is expected to create nearly 1,500 jobs over the next 12–24 months.
Commenting on the development, Pankaj Rana, CEO, Hisense India, said the Sri City plant would give the company tighter control over quality, costs and supply chains while enabling product customisation for Indian consumers. From Epack Durable’s side, Ajay Singhania highlighted that the partnership blends Hisense’s global technology with India-based manufacturing expertise, reinforcing India’s role in global value chains.
