Hindu outfit demands ban on film ‘Khalid ka Shivaji’ for 'distorting historical facts'

Kolhapur, Aug 4 (UNI) Hindu Janajagran Samiti (HJS) has demanded a ban on the upcoming Marathi film 'Khalid Ka Shivaji' which it alleged "contains historically inaccurate, baseless and distorted portrayals" of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj aimed at "misleading the public and hurting the sentiments of Shivaji's followers".
In a press release, Sunil Ghanvat, HJS State coordinator, has said that on the lines of the recent film 'Udaipur Files: Kanhaiyalal Taylor Murder' was temporarily banned of the Muslim community, the government must also be banned 'Khalid Ka Shivaji'.
Mr Ghanvat said that the film makes objectionable claims that 35% of Shivaji Maharaj’s army were Muslims, 11 of his bodyguards were Muslims and that he built a mosque at Raigad Fort. The Samiti has strongly refuted these claims as misleading, fabricated and lacking any credible historical evidence.
