Himachal strengthening farmers' economy through natural farming, quality infrastructure: CM

Shimla, July 12 (UNI) Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday said the Himachal Pradesh government is committed to strengthening the rural economy by promoting natural farming, providing assured markets and creating modern quality-testing infrastructure to enhance farmers' incomes.
Sukhu said agriculture and allied sectors remain the backbone of the state's economy and the government has adopted a farmer-centric approach aimed at transforming agriculture through progressive policies and sustainable farming practices.
He said Himachal was the first state in the country to introduce a Minimum Support Price (MSP) for naturally grown crops and has enhanced the MSP every year to encourage farmers to adopt environmentally sustainable farming.
