Himachal Pradesh: Monsoon clouds return, death toll rises to 378

Shimla, Sep 11 (UNI) After three days of respite, Himachal Pradesh is once again under the grip of the monsoon, with thick cloud cover and intermittent rainfall reviving fears of fresh natural calamities across the state.
The renewed wet spell has raised concerns about relief and rescue operations already stretched thin since the onset of this year’s prolonged and destructive monsoon. According to the State Emergency Operations Centre, the death toll has now climbed to 378, with two more accidents reported in the past 24 hours adding to the grim tally.
Thousands have been displaced, and cumulative losses to public and private property have crossed Rs 4,30,0 Cr lakh, marking one of the worst monsoon disasters in recent memory.
