Himachal police nabs trio for theft of BSNL cable, copper in Jhakri

Shimla, Feb 16 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh police arrested three persons within 24 hours in connection with the theft of cable wire and scrap copper from a BSNL store at Jhakri in Rampur subdivision.
According to Superintendent of Police Garav Singh, the action followed a complaint lodged by the BSNL department, Jhakri, at Police Station Jhakri. The complaint alleged that unknown individuals had stolen cable wires and scrap copper from the departmental store with the intention of selling the metal.
SP Singh stated that, acting swiftly on technical inputs and local intelligence, the police team traced and apprehended three accused in the case within 24 hours of registration of the FIR. A case has been registered under Sections 331(4), 305, and 3(5) of the IPC vide FIR No. 12/2026 dated February 15, 2026.
