Himachal health reforms to show results within year, says CM

Shimla, Jan 18 (UNI) Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced a major overhaul of the health sector, stating that significant improvements would be visible within one year and that Himachal Pradesh would emerge as the country’s leading state in healthcare services within the next three years.
Addressing the first State-level Health Dialogue Session at Peterhoff, Shimla on Saturday, the Chief Minister said the state government would invest Rs. 1,300 crore under JICA Phase–II to strengthen healthcare delivery. In addition, nearly Rs. 3,000 crore would be spent over the next three years to equip health institutions with advanced and high-end medical technology.
The Chief Minister held a direct interaction with Chief Medical Officers, Block Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents.
