Himachal Govt to explore specialized colleges

Shimla, Aug 13 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed the Education Department to explore the possibility of setting up specialized institutions such as Science, Arts, and Sports Colleges in the state.
Chairing a departmental meeting here in Wednesday, he reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring quality education for all, including students in rural areas, and set a target to achieve 100 percent transition from primary to higher education.
The Chief Minister stressed the need to rationalise both colleges and academic streams. He instructed the department to conduct a detailed study so that necessary changes can be implemented from the next academic session.
