Himachal Govt panel releases geological reports on Aug 15 building tragedies

Shimla, Nov 28 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has released a 33-page detailed report that attributed five major reasons for the August 15 house collapse tragedies in Krishna Nagar and Lalkothi Phagli of Shimla town.
Two people died when five houses gave way in Krishna Nagar, while five people died and seven others sustained injuries in a house collapse incident in Lalkothi Phagli.
Apart from blaming excess monsoon and rainfall triggered by Western Disturbances during August 13 to 16, the report has given five major reasons - excessive burden on the carbanaceous material, clay, extremely thick deportation of unconsolidated material, slope failure along with debris flows and open drains.
