Himachal disaster-affected communities voice concerns at Mandi public hearing

Shimla, Nov 16 (UNI) A day-long People's Public Hearing was held at Saksharta Bhavan, Mandi, where more than 70 disaster-affected residents from Mandi, Kangra, Kullu, Kinnaur, Lahaul and other districts presented their grievances before a seven-member civil society panel.
Residents shared deeply personal testimonies of loss—damaged homes, devastated farmland, destroyed roads, wiped-out livelihoods, unsafe settlements, and fractured futures.
Organised as part of a broader two-day programme involving grassroots organisations from across Himachal Pradesh, the hearing offered a rare public platform for affected communities to speak openly about exclusion, administrative gaps, and their ongoing struggle for justice.
