Himachal Cabinet approves key initiatives for green cover, green belts

Shimla, May 19 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Council of ministers today decided to involve corporates to plant trees on degraded forests and CSIR to increase the state's green cover.
In its latest meeting, the state Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, approved significant measures to boost the state's green cover and improve environmental sustainability.
The Cabinet greenlit the Mukhya Mantri Green Adoption Yojna, a new policy that allows private entrepreneurs to plant trees on degraded forest land under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. This ambitious programme aims to increase the state's actual forest areas and enhance its environmental footprint.
