Himachal bans small PET bottles at all government events

Shimla, Apr 23 (UNI) In a significant step towards environmental conservation, the Himachal Pradesh government has issued a new notification prohibiting the use of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) water bottles up to 500 ml capacity in all indoor official meetings, conferences, and events organised by government departments, Boards, Corporations, and other state-run organisations.
This decision, taken under Section 3-A of the HP Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Act, 1995, aims to curb the growing environmental damage caused by plastic waste.
