Hemant Soren to get 'Champion of Change Award'

Ranchi, Jan 16 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren will be given the 'Champion of Change' award for his better performance as the peoples representative from Barhet and Dumka Vidhan Sabha areas.
In a function to be held on January 20 in Vigyan Bhawan of New Delhi, former president Pranab Mukherjee will give the award to the Chief Minister. Hemant on his part dedicated the award to the people of the state and saluted the masses of the two constituencies who gave him an opportunity to served them and said he will always remain in debt to them for their cooperation.
An esteem jury comprising former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court KG Balakrishnan and former judge of the Supreme Court Gyan Sudha Mishra selected Chief Minister Hemant Soren for the award.

Bird Watch Survey: 89 species recorded at Nongsaya Lake in Arunachal’s Namsai

Eviction drive to continue: Assam CM

Guwahati, July 9 (UNI) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today asserted that the eviction drive which is being undertaken by his government will continue till all illegal encroachments are cleared so that the areas can be used for public welfare projects. Defending the eviction drive despite opposition criticism, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that some resistance was to be expected during an operation of such scale. Violence broke out during a massive eviction drive in Dhubri district yesterday.

CBI succeeds in extradition of fugitive Monika Kapoor from US
