Heavy rain fills Maha’s Koyana dam up to 65 p c

Kolhapur, Satara, July 24 (UNI) With continued heavy rainfall in all parts of the Satara district of Maharashtra, the Koyana irrigation dam has got filled up to 65 per cent of its capacity, officials said on Wednesday.

About 70 thousand million cubic (TMC) feet water is stored in the dam whose level has been rising in view of the 162 mm rainfall since Tuesday.

After complaints, Maha CM Fadnavis directs monitoring of charitable hospitals

Mumbai, April 23 (UNI)The Maharashtra government has taken serious note of complaints that treatment is not being provided in some hospitals without taking a deposit. Instructions have been given to form a special inspection team in coordination with the Charity Commissioner, Health Department and Chief Minister's Medical Assistance Cell to monitor charitable hospitals.
