New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) An intense rainfall spell with isolated heavy falls is likely to continue over Northeast India for the next 2 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday.
According to IMD, “fairly widespread to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on February 22 and 23, following the isolated to scattered moderate rainfall over the region on February 24 and 25.”
“Isolated heavy rainfall is also very likely over Arunachal Pradesh on February 22 and 23 and over Assam and Nagaland on February 22, the IMD said.
Parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Sikkim are likely to witness isolated to scattered moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning on February 22 and over Odisha from February 22–24.
Isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall are also very likely over Sikkim on February 22.
The Met department further predicted hailstorm activity at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal on February 22.
Hot and humid weather is very likely to prevail over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Kerala on February 22 and 23, the IMD said.
