Chennai, Aug 27 (UNI) The Hindustan Chamber of Commerce (HCC)
today celebrated its Chamber Day with the theme “Tamil Nadu
towards USD one Trillion Economy" where the Business Excellence
and Humanity awards were presented.
Tamil Nadu Industries Minister Thangam Thennarasu, who participated
in the Chamber Day event and presented the awards, said Chief Minister
M.K. Stalin has set an ambitious target to make TN USD one Trillion economy.
The Chief Minister wants Tamil Nadu to be one of the best States in South
Asia as it has all the potential. The State has also been excelling even during
difficult times.
HCC President CA K Suresh aid, In 2000, the Chamber started celebrating
Chamber Day and instituted Business Excellence and Humanity awards
and HCC has presented these awards to many Industrialists, Philanthropists,
Educationalists such as Dr. Santa of Cancer Institute, MrC.K. Ranganathan,
Cavinkare, Dr. P.C. Reddy of Apollo Hospitals, Dr. Ananth of IIT Madras,
Santhanam of Saint Gobain, K.P. Ramaswamy of KPR Mills etc.
This year the Business Excellence award was presented to City Union Bank
Limited and Caplin Point Laboratories.
The Humanity award was presented to Madras Dyslexia Association.
The awardees of this year have excelled in their fields and the Chamber
selected them based on their performance, technological developments,
customer service, achievements and their contribution for noble cause to
the society respectively.
Dr. N. Kamakodi, MD and CEO of City Union Bank Ltd received the award,
while C.C. Parthiban, Chairman of First Generation Entrepreneur, received
the award on behalf of Caplin Point Laboratories.
D. Chandrasekar, President, received the award on behalf of Madras Dyslexia
Association.
