HC kept in abeyance Collector’s decisions de-recognising the Ambernath Vikas Aghadi

Mumbai Jan 18 (UNI) The Bombay High Court on Monday kept in abeyance the Thane district collector’s decisions de-recognising the Ambernath Vikas Aghadi (AVA), which was formed after the BJP joined hands with later-suspended Congress members, and recognising the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP alliance as a pre-poll alliance in the municipal council elections.
Termed the side-switching of NCP members of the Ambernath Municipal Council as "globe-trotting", the bench of Justices Ravindra V Ghuge and Abhay J Mantri directed the Thane district collector to pass a reasoned order on rival factions’ contentions
Earlier during the hearing, the bench temporarily postponed the meeting for the formation of various subject committees, including those related to public health, public works, and education, in the Council, till January 19 evening .
