HC asks police to file reply on plea moved by slain NCP leader Baba Siddiqui's widow seeking SIT probe

Mumbai, Nov 11 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today directed the Joint Commissioner of Police (crime) and others to file their reply affidavits in response to a petition filed by Shehzeen Ziauddin Siddique, widow of late Nationalist Congress leader and former MLA Baba Siddique, seeking formation of Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case under the court's monitoring.
Siddique,66, was shot dead by three assailants outside his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra (East) on the night of October 12, 2024.
A division bench of Justices Ajey Gadkari and RR Bhonsale issued the direction during the hearing of the plea claiming that political interference and deliberate suppression of crucial evidence by the Mumbai Police.
