Hasan Nawaz's blistering ton powers Pak to win

Auckland, Mar 21 (UNI) A scintillating unbeaten century from Hasan Nawaz propelled Pakistan to a dominant nine-wicket victory over New Zealand in the third T20I at Auckland on Friday. Chasing a target of 205, Pakistan made light work of the run chase, reaching 207 for 1 in just 16 overs.
Nawaz, who had registered ducks in his first two international matches, smashed an unbeaten 105 off just 45 balls, laced with 10 fours and 7 sixes at an astounding strike rate of 233.33. He found ample support from captain Salman Agha, who remained unbeaten on 51 off 31 balls, ensuring an emphatic finish. The only casualty in Pakistan's innings was Mohammad Haris, who contributed a brisk 41 off 20 before falling to Jacob Duffy in the sixth over.
Earlier, New Zealand posted a competitive 204 before being bowled out in 19.5 overs. Mark Chapman was the top scorer with 94 off 44, who kept the hosts in the game. However, Pakistan bowlers, led by Haris Rauf (3/29) and Shaheen Afridi (2/36), ensured that New Zealand did not run away with the game. Abrar Ahmed and Abbas Afridi chipped in with two wickets each to restrict the Kiwis.
