Haryana Police bust cyber fraud racket, arrest three in Rs 2.53 crore scam

Panchkula, June 18 (UNI): Haryana Police has arrested three alleged members of a cyber fraud syndicate involved in a ₹2.53 crore online investment scam and recovered a large quantity of mobile phones, ATM cards, passbooks, chequebooks and other equipment suspected to have been used in carrying out fraudulent financial transactions.
According to police officials, a complainant approached the Cyber Crime Police Station West, Gurugram, on May 18, 2026, alleging that he had been cheated of approximately ₹2.53 crore on the pretext of making investments that promised lucrative returns. Acting on the complaint, Haryana Police registered a case under relevant provisions of law and launched an investigation.
During the probe, investigators traced around ₹15 lakh from the defrauded amount to a bank account registered in the name of a private limited company. Further examination revealed that four mobile numbers were linked to the account. Technical analysis led investigators to one of the mobile numbers that was active in Delhi. Using digital intelligence, technical surveillance and cyber forensic tools, the police team tracked the suspects and successfully apprehended them.
