Haryana jails organise blood donation camps on World Blood Donor Day

Panchkula, Jun 14 (UNI) Marking World Blood Donor Day, the Haryana Prisons Department organised blood donation camps across various jails in the state, with prison officers, staff members, their family members and representatives of social organisations participating enthusiastically in the humanitarian initiative.
A total of 525 units of blood were collected during the camps. Similar blood donation drives will also be held in prisons across the state on Sunday.
Organised under the guidance of Haryana Director General of Prisons, Alok Mittal, the initiative aimed to ensure the availability of safe blood while promoting awareness about voluntary blood donation among the public. The camps were conducted in collaboration with the Health Department, Red Cross Society, blood banks and various social organisations.
