Haryana CM hurt Dalit sentiments, says Ambedkar Mahasabha

Kaithal, Oct 11 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had hurt millions of Dalits and played a cruel joke with Amneet P. Kumar, widow of Y Puran Kumar, the IPS officer who committed suicide, said Rakesh Bahadur, All India Ambedkar Mahasabha president.
In a press release here today, Rakesh Bahadur has alleged that only after a complaint by Amneet Kumar, the police registered an FIR against top officers, which suggested there was a bid to hush up the matter under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
However, the provisions contained in the law were grossly disregarded because according to the amended section 18-A of the SC/ST Act, there is a provision for immediate arrest of an accused without any investigation and without the permission of the competent authority. There was also a provision that abolishes anticipatory bail for the accused, Bahadur said.
