Haryana Assembly witnesses uproar over nicknames, Ayushman Bharat data as budget session continues

Chandigarh, March 9 (UNI) The tenth day of the Haryana Assembly's budget session was marked by sharp exchanges between the treasury and opposition benches over personal monikers, healthcare statistics, and legislative amendments.
The proceedings took an animated turn when Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda raised a strong objection to Congress MLA Induraj Narwal being referred to as "Bhalu" (bear) within the House. Hooda questioned the propriety of using such nicknames, demanding that the member be addressed correctly.
Responding to the objection, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini clarified that the term was not intended as a slight. He noted that Narwal is a well-regarded individual and claimed that during the Baroda by-election, even the former Chief Minister had used the nickname from public platforms. Speaker Gian Chand Gupta added a lighter note, suggesting that such terms are often used endearingly by those close to the member, while the Chief Minister reiterated that he considers Narwal a "brother."
