Haryana ACB arrests hospital driver for taking Rs 44,000 bribe

Chandigarh, June 12 (UNI): In a major anti-corruption operation, the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a driver posted at Civil Hospital, Jind, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹44,000 in exchange for processing a renewed disability certificate online, officials said on Friday.
The accused, identified as Jagdish, was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount from a complainant during a trap operation conducted by the ACB. A case has been registered against him under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act at the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau Police Station in Karnal, and further investigation is underway.
According to the ACB, the complainant had approached the agency alleging that Jagdish was demanding ₹44,000 to upload and process his disability certificate online after its renewal. Following verification of the complaint, the bureau laid a planned trap to verify the allegations.
