GMC conducts organ retrieval & transplant from brain dead donor

Panaji, Mar 30 (UNI) Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Tuesday said that Goa Medical College (GMC) has conducted successful case of organ retrieval and transplant from a brain dead donor under the Deceased Donor Transplant Programme of SOTTO Goa.
In a tweet, Mr Rane said,''@GoaGMC in its continued efforts to save lives has conducted yet another successful case of Organ Retrieval & Transplant from a Brain Dead Donor under the Deceased Donor Transplant Programme of SOTTO Goa.''
''A 62-year-old woman admitted for subarachnoid haemorrhage, after a clinical diagnosis, was declared brain dead. Her family stepped forward and requested for organ donation of the deceased. Their gesture has saved 3 precious lives,'' he added.
