Gmail says ‘here to stay’ after viral, fake message claiming end of email service

Washington, Feb 23 (UNI) Google’s email platform Gmail said that it will continue operations, after a fake message about the end of the service went viral.
“Gmail is here to stay,” the service said on Thursday in a statement to social media platform X.
Earlier, a fake email appearing to originate from Gmail claimed that the platform was reaching the end of its service in August 2024.
