Girl murdered by jilted lover in Jaunpur, four police teams formed for investigation

Jaunpur, Nov 5 (UNI) A girl was allegedly murdered over a one sided love affair late on Tuesday night in Sultanpur village under the Sujanganj police station area of Jaunpur district, Uttar Pradesh, police said today.
According to official sources, the body of the woman, identified as 22-year-old Ruchi Gautam, was found around 9 p.m. in a paddy field. Upon receiving information, police reached the spot, took possession of the body, and began an investigation.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Kaustubh dispatched a forensic team to the scene and gathered details from the victim’s family. Circle Officer (CO) of Badlapur, Vivek Singh, said that prima facie, the murder appears to be linked to a one sided love affair. The girl was brutally hacked to death with some sharp edged weapon by a jilted lover, trying to lure the victim for last few months.
