Ghazipur update: SP orders strict action after death of BJP worker in police lathi charge, six suspended

Ghazipur, Sep 11(UNI) Tension gripped Gathiya village under Nandganj block following the death of 55-year-old Sitaram Upadhyay, a BJP worker, after a police lathi charge during a protest. The incident has sparked widespread outrage, but swift administrative action has been initiated under the direction of Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Iraj Raja.

In response to public outcry and demands from the deceased's family, SP Dr. Iraj Raja announced a magisterial inquiry into the matter. He assured that the body has been sent for postmortem and emphasized transparency and accountability in the investigation.
