Gen Z is not confused in love: Siddhant Chaturvedi

Mumbai, Feb 11 (UNI) Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi has challenged the prevailing perception that "Gen Z is confused in love", asserting that the younger cohort is not confused but rather adapting to an evolved emotional ecosystem shaped by the digital age.
Siddhant highlighted how the digital era has shifted the way romance is navigated. Mentioning that emotions are now expressed and understood in real time, often through the lens of a screen, Siddhant added, "Today we live in the age of social media and that has changed the way love works."
Reflecting on his love life and earlier times, he underscored that there was confusion in his times, too, but on a completely different level. "There was no social media, so we often didn't know what the other person was feeling. Years would pass and we would remain unaware of their feelings."
He recalled with a smile how he would stand outside the school, waiting for just a glimpse of the love of life. He used to just hope that their eyes would meet someday. "If our eyes met, would she look back at me or not? If she had moved on, would she look back? These small moments meant everything to us."
Interestingly, Siddhant's thoughts come at a time when he is gearing up for the release of his upcoming romantic film, "Do Deewane Seher Mein", in which he shares screen with Mrunal Thakur.
Speaking about today's dating culture, he said, "Even love is so influenced by social media these days. People deliberately post stories that feature the song they like and then wait to see if they've seen or liked it. There are so many terms in dating today—ghosting, breadcrumbing, and so on—that half the time we don't understand their meaning." UNI NST SSP
