Gaurav Gogoi refutes Assam CM's allegation, says CM failed to substantiate his claim

Guwahati, Feb 9 (UNI) Reacting to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's allegation about his alleged links with Pakistan, Assam Congress Chief Gaurav Gogoi said on Monday that the details of his visit to Pakistan were already with the Central government and that the Chief Minister had failed to give any proof that he (Gaurav Gogoi) is a Pakistani agent as alleged by the Chief Minister.
"When I became a Lok Sabha MP in 2014, I submitted my passport to the central government as I became eligible for a diplomatic passport. So all the data regarding my visit to Pakistan was available with the government of India since 2014," he said.
Gaurav Gogoi said the SIT report was with the Chief Minister for six months. "So if it concerns national security, why was the Chief Minister silent for the last six months and did not recommend to the central government to carry out a probe by central agencies," Gaurav pointed out.
