Galaxy Health launches comprehensive product, working on travel insurance policy

Chennai, Dec 15 (UNI) With the focus on catching them young, city based health insurer Galaxy Health Insurance Company Ltd on Monday launched its new comprehensive health insurance policy for those in 18-45 years age bracket, said a top company official.
He also said the company will soon come out with travel health insurance policy.
Galaxy Health’s new policy Galaxy Twin 360 comes in three variants covers in and out patient expenses as well as wellness services like gym membership.
The policy is open for people in the age group 18-45 and children 91 days – 25 years. The policy is available on individual or floater basis up to two adults and three children.
A policy holder can claim out patient treatment expenses to the extent of premium paid.
“We have a network of about 1.35 lakh clinics across the country where a policyholder can get consultation under the policy-cashless and also reimbursement in case of outside the network clinics,” R. Margabandhu, Chief Underwriting Officer said.
“The travel health insurance product will be launched soon. The company is targeting a premium income of Rs.400 crore for the year 2026-27,” G.Srinivasan, Managing Director and CEO told the media here.
He said the company which is just over a year old has earned a premium of about Rs.85 crore.
Srinivasan said health insurance in India began primarily to cover hospitalisation expenses and does not cover the out patient expenses in full.
According to Srinivasan, the company has about 7,000 hospitals in its network across the country to offer cashless settlement and till date about 1,500 claims has been settled.
About 98.8 percent of the amount claimed by the policyholders has been settled, he said.
The company with a capital of about Rs.300 crore is promoted by the members of Venu Srinivasan of the TVS family and the family of insurance industry veteran V.Jagannathan.
Galaxy Health is present in eight states and has 71 offices and has covered about 3.5 lakh individuals under about 41,000 policies till date, said S.Guruprakash, Chief Marketing Officer.
Srinivasan said 80 percent of the business is from individuals and the remaining from group insurance business.
