Fungal infections hit Himachal apple orchards amid continuous rain

Shimla, Aug 5 (UNI) Continuous rainfall in the apple-growing regions of Himachal Pradesh has led to a surge in fungal infections across orchards, causing premature yellowing and dropping of leaves, and black spots on apple fruits.
The situation is worsening with relative humidity levels exceeding 80 percent, creating ideal conditions for fungal diseases to spread rapidly.
In several orchards, early fruit drop and the appearance of Alternaria and Leaf Blight have raised concerns among orchardists.

Panchkula: Three more arrested in Rs 49 Lakh cyber fraud case; Total arrests reach five

Panchkula, Jun 14 (UNI) The Cyber Crime Police Station of Panchkula Police has arrested three more accused from Madhya Pradesh in connection with a sophisticated online investment fraud in which a Panchkula resident was allegedly duped of over Rs 49 lakh on the pretext of earning huge profits through share market trading.
The three accused, identified as Shaitan, Atul Ahirwar and Sahib Khan, all residents of Madhya Pradesh, were produced before a local court after completion of their police remand on June 13 and were subsequently sent to judicial custody.
