Free Healthcare Services Provided to 1 Crore 14 Lakh Citizens Through the 108 Ambulance Service.

Pune Dec 10 (UNI) The 108 ambulance service of Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services has become a lifeline for citizens across the state, providing free medical assistance to 1,14,47,296 patients over the past 11 years.
The service is being operated uninterruptedly through a joint initiative of the Public Health Department and Bharat Vikas Group (BVG India) said release from BVG today.
At present, a total of 937 ambulances are operational in the state. These include Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances. The ambulances are equipped with facilities such as pulse oximeters and medical oxygen systems. This is the only emergency system in the country that offers 24-hour doctor support along with critical medical services.
