Free grain for over 12,000 ration card holders to be permanently stopped in Chandrapur

Chandrapur, Aug 4 (UNI) The Maharashtra government has issued orders to discontinue benefits for those who have not collected grains from ration shops for past six months.
Under this directive, the Supply department in the district has begun the process of stopping grain distribution to as many as 12,350 beneficiaries.
At present, verification of beneficiaries is being carried out at each fair price shop level.

Mumbai/ New Delhi July 17 ( UNI) Large parts of the country, covering nearly 50 to 60 per cent of the landmass, have once again come under cloudy skies as a low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal has intensified rainfall activity across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and the northeastern states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of these regions over the next seven days.

EC Extends SIR in Maharashtra by 10 Days; Draft Electoral Roll to be Published on Aug 17

Mumbai, July 17 (UNI) The Election Commission of India has extended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Maharashtra by 10 days, with the publication of the draft voter list now scheduled for August 17, officials said on Friday.
