Four shooters of Prabh Dasuwal gang injured in police encounter

Chandigarh, May 13 (UNI) In a breakthrough against organized crime, the Tarn Taran police neutralized a module of the notorious Prabh Dasuwal gang following a fierce encounter in the border district. Four shooters associated with the gang were injured and subsequently apprehended during a high-stakes operation near Asal Uttar village under the Valtoha police station. The accused have been shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment while under heavy police guard.
The operation was initiated based on credible intelligence suggesting that the shooters were planning to execute a major criminal strike in the region. When two suspects on a motorcycle were signaled to stop, they attempted to flee and opened fire on the police personnel. In the ensuing exchange of fire, Tarn Taran SSP Surinder Lamba confirmed that the police retaliated in self-defense, resulting in gunshot wounds to the legs of two suspects, identified as Akashdeep Singh and Sunny. A pistol and a motorcycle were recovered from the spot.
The incident took a dramatic turn while the police team was securing the perimeter and awaiting the forensic unit. Two more associates of the gang arrived on another motorcycle and launched a fresh attack on the police party in a desperate attempt to rescue their injured comrades. The police retaliated once more, injuring and successfully overpowering the two additional assailants, identified as Sukhwinder Singh and Sunny.
