Four Manipur policemen suspended for misusing power

Imphal, June 3 (UNI) Manipur government has suspended four Manipur Police personnel including Commanding Officer of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) for misusing their power and corrupt practices.
Addl DGP Clay Khongsai, said the Chief Minister’s office got a complain that the Commanding Officer was collecting money from the personnel to provide them unauthorized leave. Senior Manipur Police personnel conducted an enquiry and found that most personnel were on unauthorized leave. The CO , Zakiruddin and three other personnel were suspended for involvement in the racket. The personnel were granted unauthorized leave by taking money it was alleged.
Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Police Station will take up the case.

Darjeeling, May 19 (UNI) Darjeeling MP Raju Bista on Monday said he has sought an immediate intervention of Union Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari over reported cracks that have appeared at the newly constructed Loop Bridge on National Highway 717A, commonly known as Selroti Bridge or Snake Bridge, near Bagrakote in Kalimpong district.

Kolkata, May 19 (UNI) A day after the TMC withdrew its MP Yusuf Pathan from the Centre's 'Operation Sindoor' global outreach programme, party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Monday said it has not boycotted the drive, but "it is not acceptable naming a party MP unilaterally without consultation."
"How could the Centre unilaterally decide on the representative of the Trinamool Congress in the delegation without discussing the matter with the party," questioned Abhishekh Banerjee at the Dum Dum airport before leaving for New Delhi.
