Four killed in road accident in Nashik

Nashik, July 10 (UNI) Four people, including two women and a car driver, were killed on the spot after a car they were travelling in crashed under a container at Mundhegaon Phata on the Nashik-Mumbai Highway in Igatpuri taluka of the district.
The car was crushed by a container in Igatpuri taluka, resulting in instantaneous death of the four occupants.
The deceased were identified as Nityanand Sawant (65), Vidya Sawant (62), Vina Sawant (68) and the driver, Datta Ram (42), all residents of Andheri, Mumbai. They had come to Shenwad village for 'darshan' of Mauli Ramdasbaba on occasion of Guru Purnima.
The Ghoti Police, Highway Police, and Toll Station team reached the spot as soon as they received information about the incident. The bodies were extricated with the help of a crane.
Due to accident, there was some traffic congestion on the Mumbai-Nashik highway.

Sangli, Jun 11 (UNI) In a shocking incident, a 14 year-old boy, grandson of a labour leader, was shot in the head over an extortion dispute by unidentified criminals in the Abhaynagar area of the city this evening.
According to police, the deceased boy was identified as Vendant Bandgar, whose grandfather Balu Bandagar is a labour leader.
