Former CM Bommai slams Siddaramaiah govt over reservation delay

Bengaluru, Mar 13 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday launched a strong attack on the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government, accusing it of deliberately delaying internal reservation and diverting funds meant for backward communities, calling it a “stark betrayal” of SC, ST, and OBC welfare.
Addressing a press conference, Bommai said, “In the last budget, Rs 441 crore was earmarked for OBC welfare, yet the entire amount was diverted to the general exchequer. The census is universal, covering all communities, but the Congress government ignored its responsibility to spend on backward classes as intended.”
He alleged that during Siddaramaiah’s five-year tenure, widespread protests, padayatras, and demands from SC, ST, and OBC communities for increased reservation and welfare measures were ignored.
