Former BJP members join JMM ahead of Municipal Elections

Sahibganj, Feb 9 (UNI) As the date for the municipal elections draws closer, political activities in the districts have intensified. In a political development, former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District President Srinivas Yadav and former Municipal President Manoj Paswan resigned from the party and formally joined the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Monday.
The two leaders were welcomed into the party by JMM Central Spokesperson Pankaj Mishra and District President Arun Kumar Singh, who garlanded them and handed over party scarves as a mark of induction. Their joining is being viewed as an important shift in the local political landscape ahead of the civic polls.
Srinivas Yadav alleged that the BJP in the district had become centered around individuals rather than public service and had drifted away from the concerns of the people. He further stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the region is witnessing rapid development.
